Deanna Lalich has jumped from Broadway to Ozona National Bank, where she was named vice president and chief business development officer last week. She previously was banking services manager at Broadway’s San Marcos branch.

Ozona’s San Marcos branch had $24.2 million in deposits giving it a 4.16 percent market share as of June 2012, the latest reporting period. That put it in seventh place in the city by deposits, behind Broadway ($30.9 million) and ahead of Pioneer ($15.4 million).

Frost Bank ($187.3 million) and Wells Fargo ($184.7 million) are the dominant financial institutions in San Marcos, each holding down about a third of market.

Due to its strength in Wimberley where it is No. 1 with nearly half of all deposits, Ozona is in a stronger position in Hays County as a whole. It has $98.2 million in deposits countywide, or about 8.5 percent of the market.

The Ozona-based bank has six Hill Country branches and $219.4 million in total assets, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

A longtime San Marcos resident, Lalich is incoming president of the Rotary Club of Greater San Marcos as well as incoming president of a chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, the international women’s service organization. She is active in community theater in Wimberley and Lockhart.

CLARIFICATION: The story was updated to say Lalich is incoming president of the Rotary Club and of her Beta Sigma Phi chapter, not the current president of either.

  1. OZONA RULES! Even for my short stint in Marble Falls, would commute to Ozona to do my banking. The staff are wonderful. This is what a small town bank should be like. Take note you city slickers!!!!
