Texas State recently made another “best of” type of list, ranking among the “Most Affordable Large Public Colleges” for 2013 by Affordable Colleges Online (ACO).

“There are a slew of rankings and lists that promote the most expensive colleges,” said ACO founder Dan Schuessler. “Our lists look at value colleges that also provide an excellent education. These schools are much more affordable for a wider base of students.”

All colleges and universities on the list are public, non-profit four-year schools with 25,000-80,000 students and tuition rates of less than $15,500. ACO selected Texas State after reviewing data from the National Center for Education Statistics, the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and the Carnegie Foundation.

AffordableCollegesOnline.org focuses on providing prospective college students and their families with information and resources to help them manage the cost of obtaining an education. It’s the first website to offer comprehensive lists of the most affordable colleges in various categories.

The website offers lists of the most affordable large community colleges, large public colleges, small private colleges and online colleges, with additional lists on the way.
