The Bobcat Club set a new fundraising record at the 25th annual Bobcat Bonanza on March 23, bringing in $171,317 raised to support the student-athlete scholarship fund– an increase of $23,000 over last year and the fourth consecutive record-breaking year for the annual fundraiser.

Following the golf tournament, an evening dinner on the Champions Club and Legacy Suite levels of the Jerry D. and Linda Gregg Fields Westside Complex at Bobcat Stadium with 400 guests contributed more than $171,000 in the silent and live auctions, ticket sales, sponsorships and golf tournament.

“The 25th annual Bobcat Bonanza was a huge success,” said Matt Peters, Assistant Athletics Director for Development. “Bobcat Bonanza continues to grow each year alongside our entire athletic department and university. Four years ago, we had seven teams participate in our golf tournament and the entire event raised $28,000. This year marks increases of nearly 300 percent in number of golf teams and over 500 percent in total cash raised at this event since 2009. I would like to thank our sponsors, those that donated items to our auction, and those that attended the event for helping to make this the most successful Bobcat Bonanza ever.”

The Bobcat Club is the principal fundraising arm of the Texas State Intercollegiate Athletics Department. Bobcat Club has provided a way for donors to help talented Texas State student-athletes receive a top tier education while pursuing their goals both on and off the field of competition. The Bobcat Club also raises money for facilities upgrades and high impact projects that directly benefit Texas State student-athletes.
