SUBMITTED REPORT
Texas State University will conduct a controlled burn on a small portion of the grounds of the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, formerly Aquarena Center this week.
The burn will take place at the grassland prairie area of the Meadows Center starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27.
It is designed to restore and sustain the prairie environment and reduce fuel load to prevent the possibility of unexpected fires at the public site.
The burn will be conducted by the university’s facilities department in conjunction with students and faculty in range management classes.
