The Texas State women’s basketball team suffered its fourth straight loss Saturday, falling at Idaho, 72-59.
The loss dropped the Bobcats to 3-13 in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and 9-18 overall. Idaho strengthened its grip on third place in the WAC, where it is 11-6 with a 14-14 overall record.
Texas State stayed within 31-30 until late in the first half, but Idaho scored the next five before intermission, then stretched its lead out to 46-34 right after the intermission.
Diamond Ford scored 27 points for the Bobcats, her 19th game this season in which she scored at least 20 points. Ford made 11 of 23 field goal attempts. The rest of the Bobcats combined to make 12 of 42 field goal attempts.
Christina Salvatore led Idaho with 15 points, followed by Alyssa Charlston with 13 and Ali Forde with 11.
Next up for Texas State is two home games. The Bobcats will play Utah State at Strahan Coliseum on Thursday (6:30 p.m.), the they will take on San Jose State at home on Saturday (2 p.m.).
