The Texas State football team will begin its first football season in the Sun Belt Conference on Aug. 31, but local fans won’t start seeing the Sun Belt in San Marcos until October.

The Sun Belt Conference (SBC) announced Friday that the Bobcats will play three SBC home games in October and another in November. Texas State will play its first conference game as a member of the SBC on Oct. 5 when it plays at Louisiana-Lafayette before playing three straight home games.

The Bobcats will play their first SBC home game versus Louisiana-Monroe on Oct. 12 before playing host to Georgia State on Oct. 19 and South Alabama on Oct. 26 at Bobcat Stadium.

Texas State travels to Arkansas State on Nov. 16 before playing its final home game against Western Kentucky on Nov. 23 and closing out the regular season at Troy on Friday, Nov. 29.

The Bobcats kick off the 2013 season at Southern Miss on August 31 and play their first of six home games overall in 2013 against Prairie View A&M on Sept. 7. After playing at Texas Tech on Sept. 21, Texas State returns to Bobcat Stadium for a battle against Wyoming on Sept. 28. The Bobcats also play at Idaho on Nov. 2.

Season tickets for Texas State’s 2013 campaign are available for renewing season ticket holders and will go on sale to the general public on March 6. Fans can purchase individual game tickets beginning August 7. For more information on 2013 football season tickets, visit or call 512-245-2272.
