With three games coming up at home this weekend against Northern Kentucky, the Texas State baseball team is hoping to get into the winning habit.
The Bobcats are 2-6 after losing three straight games. Their latest loss came Tuesday, a 7-5 decision at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
The Bobcats used eight pitchers against A&M-Corpus Christi, but most of the damage came in the first four innings. The Islanders scored three against Texas State starter Mitchell Pitts in 2 1/3 innings, then added two more in one inning against his reliever, Andrew Boes.
Texas State had nine hits against A&M-Corpus Christi, but none went for extra bases. Cody Lovejoy led the Texas State offense by going three-for-five.
The Bobcats will open their series against Northern Kentucky Friday (6:30 p.m.) at Bobcat Field. The two teams will square off again at 4 p.m. on Saturday and at 11 a.m. on Sunday.Email | Print
