Meetings slated on roads, public transportation

Residents are invited to two public meetings scheduled this month in Kyle on transportation issues:

» Hays County Pct. 2 Commissioner Mark Jones will hold a town hall meeting Wednesday, Feb. 27, to discuss ongoing and future projects in the Kyle area. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the new Precinct 2 building at 5458 FM 2770, the corner of Crystal Meadow Drive in Kyle. The commissioner says he is planning a similar town hall meeting for Buda area projects in March. For information, visit the Hays County Pct. 2 road project website here.

» Project Connect, a cooperative of Central Texas public transportation groups, will hold an open house Tuesday, Feb. 19 to lay out its effort to build a regional transit system. The meeting starts at 8 p.m. at Seton Medical Center Hays’ cafeteria, 6001 Kyle Pkwy in Kyle.  For information, visit Project Connect’s website here.
