The San Marcos Rattlers couldn’t get it working offensively in the first half Tuesday night and took a 56-43 boys high school basketball loss at Converse Judson.

The loss dropped the Rattlers into a three-way tie for first place in District 25-5A with Judson and San Antonio Wagner. All three teams are 6-2 in the district with two games remaining. The Rattlers are 17-13 overall, while Judson is 25-7 and Wagner is 20-11.

A 12-5 second quarter for Judson gave it a 22-13 halftime lead and the Rattlers were unable to come back. Alex Frye led the Rattlers with 13 points, followed by Brandon Coleman with 11. Judson’s Jarveon Williams scored 18 to lead all scorers.

The Rattlers have split their two games against Judson, winning the first one, 34-33. Next up, the Rattlers play at home Friday against Wagner, which won the first meeting between the two teams, 81-62.
