The event will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31. A silent auction will be held in conjunction with the wine-tasting.

An important fundraiser for the league’s voter education and voter services outreach programs, the annual wine tasting traditionally features wines from a Texas winery and this year will be no exception.

The league’s wine-tasting committee, chaired by Dorothy Evans, has chosen wines from two different wineries this year. The spotlight will focus on the upscale boutique Calais Winery of Dallas and the Pedernales Cellars winery of Stonewall. Three wines from each winery will be featured.

Proceeds from the wine tasting help fund the publication of the league’s local voters guide, as well as off-setting expenses incurred by hosting candidates’ debates and meet-and-greet receptions. Wine-tasting tickets are available from any league member for $20 in advance. Tickets will also be available at the door on Jan.31 for a cost of $25.
