Kyle Chamber of Commerce members recently celebrated the opening of a local branch of First Lockhart National Bank, which is expanding for the first time beyond Caldwell County, where it dominates.

Chamber board members Mayor Lucy Johnson, city council member David Wilson, chamber executive director Ray Hernandez and other chamber officials were on-hand for the ribbon-cutting at First Lockhart’s new branch at 800 W. FM 150, the Kyle Parkway, near Seton Medical Center. The ceremony was also attended by Roland Velvin, the bank’s president and chief executive officer; senior vice president Bobby Priestly; and Kyle branch manager Jennifer Gil.

As of June 2012, First Lockhart had $141.9 million in deposits giving it a 65.8 percent market share in Caldwell County, according to the most recent data available from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Bank officials say the institution has $171 million in total assets.
