Stephanie Reyes has been promoted to assistant director of human resources for the city of San Marcos.
She will report to human resources director Linda Spacek and assist in city employment processes, training, safety, pay and benefits management and performance evaluations.
Reyes has served as assistant to the city manager since 2001, acting as a liaison to the city council and directors. She recently has worked on special projects, including the Core Four Education Committee and the city’s first Youth Master Plan.
“Stephanie has 12 years of success in the City Manager’s Office,” City Manager Jim Nuse said. “Her roles have involved economic development, CVB, and policy level assignments that have had long term impact on the entire City of San Marcos. She joins the top-notch team at the Human Resources Department led by Linda Spacek.”
Reyes has served on the Texas State University MPA Advisory Council, Past-President of Leadership San Marcos Board, and currently serves as Vice Chair on the Board of Directors for Community Action, Inc. of Central Texas and the Hays County Dispute Resolution Center Board of Directors.
A San Marcos native, Reyes is a 1996 graduate of San Marcos High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology from Texas State University in May 2000. In December 2001, she completed the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program as a Mitte Foundation Scholar.
Reyes also served as interim economic development director for the city of San Marcos from October 2007 to April 2008. She is married to Andrew Reyes and they have an 18-month old son, Andrés.Email | Print
