The Society for American Baseball Research, Rogers Hornsby Chapter, is holding its annual winter meeting at Texas State for the seventh straight time.
The meeting will take place Saturday in Old Main Room 320. It is expected that the festivities will take up the entire day.
Among those scheduled to speak are longtime Houston Astros broadcaster Bill Brown, Texas League President Tom Kayser and Round Rock Express broadcaster Mike Capps. Other baseball researchers and scholars also will speak.
The event is free and open to the public. A boxed lunch is available to order for a nominal charge, provided the order is placed before 10 a.m.
Chapter Commissioner Gilbert D. Martinez, senior lecturer and assistant director in the School of Journalism & Mass Communication at Texas State, will moderate the winter meeting. Judy Oskam, director of the School of Journalism & Mass Communication, will give opening remarks.
