Election 2012 Video: Hays County Pct. 1 Constable (David Peterson vs. Stephen Velasquez)

STAFF REPORT

In a rematch of their Democratic Party primary race four years ago, Hays County Pct. 1 Constable David Peterson is running against former chief deputy constable Stephen Velasquez, who tried unsuccessfully to succeed his old boss, Lupe Cruz, in 2008.

This time around, Velasquez is running as the Republican Party nominee against Peterson, a Democrat. There are similarities, nonetheless. Velasquez still touts his experience as the long-serving Cruz’s righthand man and he still finds himself on the defensive over personal matters.

CORRECTION: The wrong video footage was originally included in this post. See Hays County Pct. 2 Constable James Kohler debate Republican opponent Ron Hall here.

Mr. Peterson is the right man for the San Marcos Community. He is a community person. He has proven his comittment to his community as he is well know for helping his community by being actively involved with the people in his community. He can always be found raising money for someone who has a need that can;t be met. He is much like his father , the late “Elmus Lee Peterson (Moose). Loved by his genuine desire to help those who may need some assistance. The community has spoke! He is our “Constable” Thank you David for your honesty, integrity, and dedication to all the citizens in San Marcos. We love you!
