STAFF REPORT
Candidates for federal and state office will share a stage tonight for the first of two debates this month sponsored by the San Marcos Area League of Women Voters.
Today’s event starts at 6:30 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center and will feature contenders for three U.S. Congress seats that include slices of Hays County. The second debate, for city of San Marcos and Hays County offices, is 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 at the same place.
Both debates will be video recorded by the San Marcos Mercury and available online for viewing and downloads.
Here is the local league’s Voters Guide, which is published each primary and general election season:

Will this be covered by the Mercury?
Hi Ted,
We are recording and will post video both for this one and next Monday’s city candidate debate.
Thank you!
And God bless the League of Women Voters!
Today is the first day of Early Voting and these videos still aren’t up. Do y’all have an eta for them to be posted?
Gabe, You must have missed them when they were posted last week

The San Marcos City Council debate isn’t until tonight and we’ll post that video when we have it.
I saw those videos – I was more looking for the congressional and state board of education videos than these two races. I was in attendance for these two debates but missed out on all the other debates and forums. I saw quite a few candidates there and spoke to a few of them.
None of their videos are up. Will they be posted or are these two videos the only coverage you will be posting from last monday?
