EDITOR’s NOTE: If you want to vote in the Nov. 6 general election and are not registered to vote in Hays County, you must do so by Tuesday, Oct. 9. You can download the application here [pdf]. It must be postmarked Oct. 9 or returned to Hays County Elections office, 712 South Stagecoach Trail, by the end of the day.


Election Day is about a month away, but the last day to register to vote in Texas is Tuesday. And though Texans still can’t register online, there are many other ways to do so.

  1. Speaking of the CONA debate, why wasn’t it covered? I was there but I want to see if anybody else heard the same thing I heard. Did Mr. Scott really say thanks to when Susan was mayor, we do not have to worry about water in San Marcos. If I heard him right he said we are in good shape and water is really not an issue.

  2. Why? Do we have to worry about water? Or is credit going to the wrong person? I really would like to know.

  3. No, credit does go to Mayor Narviaz and to the members on the council at that time for securing water for San Marcos, but we should never rest on the laurels of others. As San Marcos continues to grow we must continue to find ways to allow for responsible growth without draining the Edwards dry. In this part of the state water is always an issue.

  4. i wonder if yet another election will go by when candidates for the dias are completely ignored in coverage by local press when they speak before the P&Z on key issues on development facing our community =(
