Shred day postponed due to weather

SUBMITTED REPORT

The San Marcos City Clerk’s Office has postponed the Shred Day scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15 because of rainy weather forecast for this weekend.

The event has been rescheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 29 at City Hall, 630 E. Hopkins.

City Clerk Jamie Lee Pettijohn and her staff will be on hand to assist residents who want to dispose of boxes of paper documents by confidential on-site shredding by Marshall Shredding of San Antonio.

Residents may wish to shred such documents as old tax returns, processed checks, loan applications, financial reports and other papers that include Social Security or banking and credit card account numbers.

All the documents will be shredded on site. Volunteers will be available to help unload material from vehicles and boxes will be returned to residents.

For more information, call the City Clerk’s office at 512-393-8090.
