Lawmaking involves persuasion, argument, brokering and compromise. It involves much more than spouting a few Palinesque soundbites to like-minded constituents.

My rule is simple: Candidates who refuse to engage opponents in debate do not get my vote, period. If you can’t ably respond to challenging questions, go home: the job of governing is not for you.

Campbell only shows up at TEA Party events so all she hears is the echo chamber. John Courage will have my vote in November.
