With a morning ceremony on Tuesday, San Marcos residents marked the 11th anniversary of the life-altering terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The local tradition includes tolling the city’s historic fire bell — relocated years ago from downtown and installed in front of City Hall — in memory of the 3,000 people who died in the mayhem, including more than 340 firefighters and paramedics.
