Texas State to announce ‘transforming’ major gift

Texas State University officials are ginning up anticipation for what they describe as the announcement of a major donation scheduled for Friday.

A statement issued in the name of university president Denise M. Trauth said the gift “will lead to the transforming and renaming of the university’s River Systems Institute.” The research and advocacy thinktank is headquartered at Spring Lake in Spring Lake.

Trauth will announce the gift an Austin press conference 12:30 p.m. Friday following a regular meeting of the Texas State University System regents.
