The Hays County Commissioners Court last month presented a Distinguished Service Award on behalf of the Texas Historical Commission to the Hays County Historical Commission for its work last year. In 2011, the commission opened a museum in the Old Hays County Courthouse where historical documents and artifacts are on display every Tuesday and the first and third Saturday of each month. The commission also produced the “Hays County in World War II” documentary and submitted a successful application to have the old “moveable” wooden jail declared one of Texas’ Most Endangered Places. Congratulations and thank all of you who serve Hays County on this commission.

A hearty “Well Done” to all members of the commission. Yet another source of the pride we share as Hays County residents.
