The Texas State football team begins its fall camp at 6 p.m. Monday, August 6 with its first practice on the Texas State practice field located behind the Bobcat Baseball/Softball Complex.
Texas State is playing in its first NCAA Division I FBS conference this season when the Bobcats play in the Western Athletic Conference. The Bobcats kickoff the 2012 season at Houston at 7 p.m. Sept. 1. Comcast Sports will televise that game.
Texas State plays its first home game in the newly renovated Bobcat Stadium on Sept. 8 when the Bobcats host Texas Tech at 6 p.m. The Bobcats play their first WAC game on Oct. 13 when they host Idaho at 6 p.m.
Head coach Dennis Franchione welcomes back 48 lettermen and 18 starters from last year’s team that finished the season with a 6-6 record. Texas State will begin its fall camp with 105 players on Monday.
The Bobcats will practice in helmets, practice jerseys and shorts on Monday-Wednesday before adding shoulder pads on Thursday. Texas State will practice in full pads at 8 a.m. Friday, August 10 and hold its first two-a-day workouts on Saturday, August 11.
