Republican voters statewide will decide the winner of a pitched battle for U.S. Senate between Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz. Democrats meanwhile will settle a runoff in their own U.S. Senate race — former State Rep. Paul Sadler is running against Grady Yarbrough, a little-known East Texan who managed to hold Sadler below 50 percent in the May primary.
Closer to home, Republican voters will also settle three important races:
