GOP runoff candidates invited to Hays County forum

Republican candidates in the July 31 runoff election — including candidates vying for U.S. Congress, state senate and a state district judge bench — are expected at a forum the weekend after next.

The North Hays Republican Group is hosting the exchange 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 8 at the Church of the Springs, 230 Sports Park Road in Dripping Springs. Invited candidates include:

• Wes Riddle and Roger Williams, who are running for Congressional District 25, which sprawls form western Hays County to the outskirts of Fort Worth.
• State Sen. Jeff Wentworth and challenger Donna Campbell, who are locked in a showdown for State Senate District 25, which includes San Antonio, western Hays County and parts of the Hill Country.
• Texas Assistant Attorney General David Glickler and former New Braunfels Mayor Bruce Boyer, who are running for the 22nd State Judicial District that covers Hays, Comal and Caldwell counties.
