The city of San Marcos just sent out this statement to press:

Interstate 35 in San Marcos is being shut down in both directions, including the frontage roads, between exits 206 and 207 to repair utility lines that were snagged by a truck around 10:45 a.m. causing a power outage and brief fire.

The interstate closed around 12:45 p.m. and is expected to be shut down until about 1:30 p.m. The accident occurred around 10:45 a.m. and caused a power outage of about 47 minutes.

On scene are San Marcos Electric Utility, Time Warner Cable, San Marcos Police, and the Texas Department of Transportation.

Interstate 35 at Aquarena Springs Drive is closed while workmen string a power line across the highway. The Texas Department of Transportation tweeted news of the closure about five minutes ago and said it should last about a half-hour.
