The Brian Burke Band is bringing their indie country act to Texas Music Theater tonight. Born in Tyler and raised in Houston, Burke began his music career playing San Marcos bars while a student at Texas State. He released his first EP in July 2009 followed by his first full-length album, “Unraveled” in August 2010. 1. The “music listings” are wrong again today, perhaps even worse than yesterday. Let me try to straighten at least part of it out. —> Joel Hofmann, The Beaumonts, and El Gallo are NOT playin at Cheatham Street as stated. They are probably at Riley’s in Hunter. —> At Cheatham tonight, Michael O’Connor is playing and celebrating his birthday. —> and Bryan Boyce could hardly be playing the Railyard and TMT at the same time as stated. I believe Bryan is at TMT tonight. —>
AND tomorrow night, the benefit for Youth Service Bureau is NOT being held at Cheatham as stated. That is possibly at Triple Crown. (Call them to confirm if you would like to support this cause.) —> At Cheatham, we do have the TEXAS JAMM BAND featuring members of ACE IN THE HOLE playing an early show (8:30 till 11). (That’s on Saturday – not Friday as stated in yesterday’s Mercury.)

Hopefully this will be of help to anyone who might be looking to these pages to decide what music they want to go out for tonight and tomorrow. Thanks to the Mercury for including at least some coverage of the our bustling music scene.

  2. Let me correct myself – Bryan Boyce is at the Railyard – Brian Burke is at TMT. (I’ve heard both bands and they’re both plenty good, and worth more than the cost of the ticket.)
