STAFF REPORT

Members of Texas State University Club Baseball team are nearing a half-million views on a YouTube video of them ad-libbing and dancing.

The production is a response to a similar video of the Harvard baseball team dancing to Carly Rae Jepsen’s pop hit “Call Me Maybe,” which has racked up more than 9 million YouTube views on its way to becoming an Internet sensation.

The Texas State baseballers start out with Jepsen’s tune then transition to Run-DMC’s “Call Me Tricky” by way of the team’s trademark “Bagel Dance.”

“We actually rehearsed it probably around 45 times…but we actually video-ed it around 12 times and then on our 13th or 14th try, we actually got it,” outfielder Christian Pilola told Fox 7 News.

The team rehearsed and recorded the video during a five-hour drive home from a regional tournament.
