Texas State will play its last midweek home game of the season on Wednesday when No. 2 Baylor comes to Bobcat Ballpark for a 6:30 p.m. contest. The Bobcats will look to even the season series against the Bears, who defeated Texas State at Dell Diamond earlier this season.

Texas State is 6-4 against ranked opponents this season and 18-4 in games played at home. The team is coming off a series victory over Lamar, winning two of three games to improve to 27-18 overall and 15-12 in the Southland Conference.
Baylor will bring a 38-8 record and No. 2 ranking in all four major polls into Wednesday’s game. The Bears have already clinched the Big 12 title with a perfect 18-0 record in conference games. Baylor had a 24-game winning streak earlier this season that was snapped against UTSA before the Bears won their last three games entering Wednesday.
Texas State redshirt freshman Taylor Black will make his fifth start of the season and be opposed by Baylor’s Tyler Bremer.
