Dozens of candidates for public office are expected at tonight’s San Marcos Area League of Women Voters forum, traditionally the most heavily attended — and most exciting — event each local election cycle.

The debate is at 7 p.m. today at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins Rd.

The Mercury will post a running account of some of the candidates’ exchanges here and start posting video of the event on Tuesday. A listing of races and candidates covered either in forum or debate format at tonight’s gathering is posted on the San Marcos Mercury here.
