The San Marcos City Council will hold a workshop at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26 at City Hall to follow up on a day-long community open house and provide direction on interim zoning strategies and proposed park rules.
City staff members held an all-day, come and go open house on Wednesday, April 18 at the Activity Center attended by some 224 residents.
The open house invited conversations with staff and written comments from residents about zoning strategies, proposed park rules, and the Land Development Code/ downtown Smart Code.
Thursday’s city council workshop will focus on interim zoning strategies and park rules and provide direction to staff.
Interim zoning strategies will help guide rezoning requests from single family to multi-family districts while the city’s Comprehensive Master Plan process continues in the coming months.
The city council will also discuss proposed rules for city parks, including alcohol, Styrofoam, litter, tobacco use, barbecue pits, spear gun permits and fines for littering in the river.
The workshop is open to the public and will be televised live on Grande Channel 16 and Time Warner Channel 10.Email | Print
