More than a dozen free workshops are being offered as part of the 3rd Annual Texas Green Home & Living Show from the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 31 at the San Marcos Conference Center at Embassy Suites.
Topics range from sustainable architecture and structural insulated panels to solar energy, drought-resistant landscaping and community gardening. Texas State University Net Impact students are once again showing their support for the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce by presenting their international award-winning program on Green Energy Audits for Homes and Businesses.
In addition, the state conference for the Texas Rainwater Catchment Association will be going on the same weekend in San Marcos and several of their events will be available to the general public for a fee. According to Chamber President, Brian Bondy, “The opportunity to partner with a statewide organization whose mission is in keeping with the mission of the Texas Green Show is both exciting and adds value to the show.”
Admission to the Texas Green Home & Living Show is free to the public as are the workshops set up by the Green Show organizers. These workshops include:
In addition to free workshops, attendees to the Green show will be entertained by children’s choirs from local elementary schools, a puppet show featuring a grumpy opossum and art show winners all in the brand new, HEB Kids “Go Green” area.
