Kyle Mayor Lucy Johnson hosted a small delegation of female leaders from Pakistan during an informal meeting in Kyle’s City Hall on Feb. 7.
The Pakistani women’s delegation came to the US through the US Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program which fosters citizen to citizen diplomacy for emerging leaders.
“It is always an honor to meet women from other countries who are making history by creating opportunities for women to become an active part of their country’s leadership,” Johnson said. “These women are very brave and I am inspired by their courage and fortitude in advancing their cause under some very difficult circumstances.”
Johnson and members of the delegation discussed various aspects of governance during a one-hour meeting. The Pakistani women expressed interest in Kyle’s government structure and funding, and they posed questions about the powers of the Kyle mayor and Johnson’s background.
This is good for Kyle. Her Honor understands that any sort of favorable publicity works to Kyle’s advantage. As a longtime Kyle resident, I commend Mayor Lucy for hosting this group and I am satisfied that she made Kyle look good in the process. Good Job City!!!
