STAFF REPORT

Hays County Crime Stoppers is helping SMPD search for two men who reportedly assaulted and robbed a pizza delivery man on Jan. 25.

At about 8:15 p.m., the victim was called to deliver a pizza to Townwood Apartments at 520 Linda Drive in San Marcos. When the delivery man arrived to unit 1708, he reportedly found the dwelling vacant. As he turned around, he was assaulted from behind by two males. The assailants seized the pizza warmer bag from him and inflicted minor injuries to his face and to the right side of his body. The men then ran towards building 22.

The victim said one suspect was Hispanic and wore a white shirt and the other was African American and wore a purple shirt.

SMPD investigators say the robbery was premeditated because the pizza delivery request was made to a vacant apartment and the suspects apparently waited for the delivery person to arrive.

Those whose submitted information to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest and indictment will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Those who call Crime Stoppers are given a code number used for payment of the reward. Their identity is not revealed and they have no further involvement in the case. Crimes of interest by Crime Stoppers include murder, aggravated assault, sexual assault, robbery, auto theft, business or residential burglary, felony theft, illegal narcotics, felony fugitives, or any other felony crime.
