The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Texas will host its third annual Be Creative Art Showcase Recognition Reception in San Marcos on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Local BGCSCT supporters will evaluate members’ drawings, paintings and sculptures to determine which pieces will be sent to a regional showcase. At the regional level, 37 pieces will be sent to The Boys & Girls Clubs of America as nominees for The National Fine Arts Exhibit.

“Fine arts programs provide children with a creative outlet,” said Elton Fite, coordinator for BGCSCT Club Programs and Operations. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our youth to let their creativity and imagination shine and potentially garner national acclaim.”

BGCSCT is located at 400 Uhland Road in San Marcos. The Jan. 28 event is free and open to the public. Food and beverages will be served. For more information about BGCSCT, visit its website.
