Blood drive slated for Dec. 27-28

STAFF REPORT

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office and the Blood Center of Central Texas will sponsor the Holiday Heroes Blood Drive on Dec. 27 and Dec. 28. The goal of the drive is to accept at least 100 donors, which could save 200 lives, blood drive organizers said.

Jeffrey Jordan, Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, said the first donors at each donation location will receive a free T-shirt. A representative from Sac-n-Pac will also be at locations with prizes.

“Please come and help the Sheriff’s Office save lives by donating blood,” Jordan said. “All blood donations go to help the hospitals that serve the citizens of Hays County.”

There will be three donation locations throughout Hays County on Dec. 27:

• Cabela’s Parking Lot in Buda from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• HEB Parking Lot in Dripping Springs, Texas from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Hays County Courthouse on the Square in San Marcos from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be one blood drive location on Dec. 28 at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center in San Marcos, in Training Room B from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Donors may schedule appointments at https://www.inyourhandsonline.org/index.cfm?group=op&hlc=hayscounty.

Walk-ins will also be welcome, Jordan said.
