SUBMITTED REPORT

The Women’s Council of the Central Texas Medical Center Foundation is seeking applicants for Impact Grants to Hays County non-profit organizations that serve women and children.

Now in its second year of operation and having grown to 66 women, the Women’s Council will be awarding $20,000 in grants to qualified non-profits and will place a special focus on funding for organizations and programs that focus on critical issues including poverty, violence, and improving access to healthcare and education for women and children in Hays County.

”We are delighted to have even more money to grant out this year,” said Dr. Joanne Smith, co-chair of The Women’s Council Grant Committee. “Women from all walks of life come together for a common cause and invest in our community by promoting programs and services that positively impact women and children throughout Hays County and this year we will be granting out more thanks to our growth in membership.

In its inaugural year, the Women’s Council funded five area non-profits serving a wide-range of needs. The Women’s Council is a philanthropic committee of the CTMC Foundation whose mission is to encourage women to strengthen and invest in our community by promoting programs and services that benefit women and children.

“By giving each member of our council a voice in where the grants are awarded, they not only feel empowered, they also get exposed and engaged in several other area organizations that are doing good for women and children,” said Dr. Lolly Guerra, co-chair of the Women’s Council Grants Committee. “It’s a true win-win.”

Applications for a CTMC Foundation Women’s Council Grant must be completed and sent electronically to the CTMC Foundation office at CTMFoundation@ahss.org on or before Feb. 17, 2012. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Applications can be found on our website, www.ctmc.org.

Membership in the CTMC Women’s Council involves an annual donation of $250. For more information, contact the Foundation office at (512) 753-3687 or visit www.ctmc.org.
