In the 1930s Bob Wills put the swing in Country/Western music. In 1950, Cohoma native, fiddler and electrical engineering genius Benjamin “Tex” Logan wrote “Christmas Time’s A’ Comin,” arguably one of the first original Country/Bluegrass Christmas songs.
So it was a Texan who put Christmas into country music and a Texan who made it swing. In June, Rick Perry and the Texas legislature declared Western Swing the Official Music of Texas.
