Nine San Marcos Academy Bear football players were selected for the All-District Team in Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division II-District 3, Coach Les Davis announced this week.

First-Team All-District selections were junior running back Estevan Gutierrez and senior defensive lineman Sabas Castillo, both of whom are San Marcos residents.

Castillo and Gutierrez, who played both offense and defense for the Bears, were also named to the Second Team All-District in other positions: Castillo as an offensive lineman and Gutierrez as a linebacker. Joining them on the Second Team were Richard Smith, a senior linebacker from Kyle; defensive back Michael Trejo, a junior from Kyle; and Cody Watson, a senior offensive lineman from San Marcos.

Watson was also an Honorable Mention pick as a defensive lineman. Others receiving Honorable Mention were athlete Cole Williams, a junior from Kyle; offensive lineman Min Jae Jeong, a sophomore from Seoul, Korea; and offensive lineman Dalton Wade and running back Shane Boyer, both seniors from San Marcos.
