Members of the San Marcos High School chapter of Health Occupations Students of America recently conducted a blood drive at the school.
According to Sarah Moreno, HOSA sponsor and health science teacher, the 102 pints of donated blood will benefit 204 recipients.
The next HOSA blood drive will be on Jan. 26, 2012. At that time, donors may utilize the Blood Center buses parked outside the high school, said SMCISD spokesperson Iris Campbell.
The HOSA students are part of the school’s Health & Human Services Academy. HOSA is a national student organization whose goal is the promotion of opportunities in the health care industry and the delivery of quality health care to all people. The organization provides leadership training, motivation, and recognition.
