The Hays County Commissioners Court on Tuesday took no action to reinstate the burn ban, which was in effect during much of the summer and fall.
Therefore, outdoor burning is still allowed in unincorporated areas of the county. Hays County Fire Marshal Mark Chambers said those wishing to burn should inform their neighbors and nearby homeowner associations in advance of burning, though there is no legal requirement to do so. He asked those who burn to use extreme caution.
“The fire danger situation is looked at daily in Hays County and while the intent is to keep the ban off until at least next week, if conditions warrant it can be reinstated by the Judge’s emergency action,” said Laureen Chernow, county spokesperson.Email | Print
