The City of San Marcos will host a Development Open House for the public on Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the newly remodeled Permit Center.
“Helping Build Dreams in San Marcos” is the theme of the event hosted by the Development Services Department, Engineering and the Permit Center. The Permit Center will be open to serve customers until 4 p.m. on October 25.
Attendees will meet the new development leadership team consisting of Linda Huff, Director of Engineering, Matthew Lewis, Director of Development Services, and Kristy Stark, Assistant Director of Development Services-Permit Center.
The program will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a presentation by the three departments on the results of a developers’ survey, plans to improve the development process and details about a “customer bill of rights.” Staff will also host tours of the Permit Center.
“We are excited for our customers to see the transformation of the permit center and to provide an update on recent and upcoming development process improvements,” said Kristy Stark, Assistant Director for Development Services-Permit Center. “This is a true team effort between our departments and we want to share our progress with our development partners.”
The Permit Center is located behind the two-story Municipal Building in the City Hall complex, 630 E. Hopkins. The facility recently underwent remodeling to improve access and service to residents, contractors and developers.
Staff processes a wide variety of permits for construction and site development projects and provides building, fire, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, gas and energy conservation inspections.
