STAFF REPORT

Police are attempting to contact Nathaniel Joseph Doyle, a 22-year-old Texas State student who has allegedly made death threats and may be armed near the Texas State campus.

The Texas State University Police Department issued a “timely warning” announcement saying Doyle allegedly sold his vehicle and purchased a pistol, and made comments about killing people.

Doyle lives near campus and could be in that area at any time, states the UPD warning. Police ask those who spot Doyle to avoid making contact with him and immediately call 9-1-1.

Doyle is not wanted for any criminal offense and the case is being treated as a welfare concern, said San Marcos PD Night Shift Commander Kelly Earnest.

“We’re still actively looking for him,” Earnest said at about 10 p.m.

Earnest said the university sent a mass email to all students advising them of the situation.
