San Marcos police have arrested a man and a woman who are accused of stabbing and kicking a man in an assault in the 1100 block of Advance Street Monday night.

Matthew Hernandez, 23, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Seana Moore, 21, is charged with one count of aggravated assault. Hernandez is jailed at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center under $50,000 bond and Moore was given a personal recognizance bond.

The investigation and subsequent arrests began after San Marcos police were called to Central Texas Medical Center Monday night in response to a report of a stabbing victim.

The stabbing occurred around 8:30 p.m. at an Advance Street residence when Seana Moore poured beer on the victim who then poured beer on her, according to Sgt. Mike Wellman of the San Marcos Police Criminal Investigations Division.

Matthew Hernandez is accused of coming after the victim and during the ensuing fight, pulled a knife and cut him across the face. After the man fell to the ground, Moore kicked him numerous times in the head.

Hernandez then held the knife up to the face of a witness and threatened harm if he reported the incident, police said. Witnesses transported the injured man to CTMC and called police. The victim was treated and released.

Police obtained arrest warrants for Hernandez and Moore along with a search warrant for the residence. The SWAT team was called in to serve the warrants due to the violent nature of the crime and the suspects’ previous histories. The warrants were served without incident and Hernandez and Moore were both arrested.
