Alaniz
Rogelio Alaniz, 28, was jailed at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bond was set at $100,000 for each count, or a total of $300,000.
According to Sgt. Mike Wellman, police responded to a report of shots fired in the 700 block of Alabama Street shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday.
A fight had broken out between two men. A third man not involved in the original fight, later identified as Alaniz, fired numerous rounds from a handgun, striking two men and a woman.
The shooter fled the area and witnesses were able to give a description of the car. New Braunfels police stopped the suspect’s vehicle on I-35 and turned him over to the San Marcos police.
The three victims were transported to University Medical Center at Brackenridge in Austin where they were listed in stable condition Sunday. Police did not release their names.
