San Marcos police have charged Jean Claude Yannick Munyantore, 33, with aggravated robbery following a SWAT team call out Wednesday lasting an hour and a half.

Munyantore is jailed at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center charged with aggravated robbery, a first degree felony, with bond set at $350,000.
He was charged in an aggravated robbery that occurred Tuesday, June 14 around 1:39 a.m. A man accosted a woman in the Walgreen’s parking lot on E. Hopkins and robbed her at knifepoint of around $3, said Sgt. Mike Wellman of the San Marcos Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
The subsequent investigation led police to a home at 605 Valley Street on Wednesday, June 15, around 11 a.m. Officers detained two men in the front yard and learned that the suspect was believed to be inside.
Officers called to Munyantore using a loud speaker, said Assistant Chief of Police Chase Stapp. When the suspect refused to come out, the SWAT team surrounded the residence. Members of the Hays County Crisis Negotiation Team continued using the loud speaker for about an hour and a half to urge the suspect to come out of the home.
The arrest team deployed a Bearcat tactical vehicle to the side of the house. Munyantore and an unidentified woman came out of the house and surrendered. She was detained briefly and released.
$3…Crime really doesn’t pay.
