San Marcos CIP discussions to begin tonight

The city of San Marcos has scheduled several discussions of the Capital Improvements Program in the next two weeks.

Capital projects are planned expenditures on major roads, facilities, parks, sidewalks, bike lanes, fire trucks, and water, wastewater, drainage and electric utility infrastructure.

The discussions are scheduled on:

  • Tuesday, May 17: City Council will receive a presentation and update on current and future major capital projects at its regular meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
  • Wednesday, May 18: The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a special meeting and public hearing at 6 p.m. to continue its review of infrastructure and facility
  • Thursday, May 19: a public open house will be held at the Price Senior Center, 222 W. San Antonio Street from 6-7 p.m. to discuss current and future projects.
  • Tuesday, May 24: P&Z will continue its review of the CIP and consider recommendations to make to the City Council.

Citizens, business owners, students and commuters are invited to participate in the May 19 open house at the Price Senior Center and to attend the Planning and Zoning and City Council discussions.

The open house will focus on projects that are underway and projects that will start in the next couple of years. The session will also touch on potential projects extending to 2021.
