Traffic Report: 02/13/11 to 02/19/11

Street and utility work expected to affect local traffic this week:

  • CASTLE CREEK DRIVE: Roadway closed to through traffic between Lisa Lane and Nevada Street until early April for drainage improvements. Traffic will be detoured around construction zone. Project completion scheduled for April 2011. Castle Creek Drainage Improvements Project, Capital Improvements, 393-8130.
  • PROSPECT-DARTMOUTH INTERSECTION: The intersection at Prospect Street and Dartmouth Street will be closed periodically through early March for drainage improvements. Motorists should detour to Bishop, Progress, Columbia, Clara and Brown Street to avoid the area. Please also be aware of traffic flaggers, construction workers and heavy equipment on Bishop Street.   • OLD BASTROP HIGHWAY: Between Centerpoint Road and East McCarty Lane, one lane closed due to drainage work until the end of February. Hays County Road Department, 393-7385.
  • CHEATHAM STREET: Open to traffic with utility construction continuing until further notice. Rio Vista Terrace Neighborhood Infrastructure Project, Capital Improvements, 393-8130.
  • SYCAMORE STREET: Open to traffic with utility construction continuing until further notice. Rio Vista Terrace Neighborhood Infrastructure Project, Capital Improvements, 393-8130.
  • HAYNES DRIVE: Street construction and paving in the 900-1300 blocks through March. Construction of driveways, sidewalks, curbs & gutter also underway. Rio Vista Terrace Neighborhood Infrastructure Project, Capital Improvements, 393-8130.
  • FIELD STREET & RIVERSIDE DRIVE: Both streets open to traffic with utility construction continuing until further notice. Rio Vista Terrace Neighborhood Infrastructure Project, Capital Improvements, 393-8130.
  • EAST HUTCHISON STREET: 200 block, parking area closed and alley will be closed to through traffic between North LBJ Drive and North Edward Gary Street until February 28, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. due to soil removal from construction site.
