Masons offer career development workshop

A local Masonic lodge is offering free career development, financial planning and self-defense workshops as part of its “Sharing Our Skills Day” program.

“The goal is to address key needs of our community through workshops and one-on-one training,” said William Norris Lodge, Worshipful Master for Pride of San Marcos Lodge No. 494.

The first of these workshops will be held by Chris Jones, a Texas State University career adviser, 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church, 524 Centre Street. The session will include one-on-one help preparing or updating resumes and mock job interviews.

Future sessions include “Get Your Finances In Order” on March 12; “Self-Defense Class” on April 9; and “He Gave Me A Song” on May 14.
