Cambodian journalist to speak on media, freedom in Cambodia

The editor of the Cambodia Daily newspaper in Phnom Penh will discuss “Media and Freedom in Cambodia,” 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in Old Main 234 on the Texas State University.

Kevin Doyle, editor-in-chief of the Cambodia Daily, is currently a 2011 Nieman Fellow at Harvard University.  Doyle, who has been arrested in Cambodia in pursuit of his work, was convicted in 2009 on charges of defamation, for publishing comments by a member of the country’s opposition party that were critical of high-ranking officials.
