STAFF REPORT
The editor of the Cambodia Daily newspaper in Phnom Penh will discuss “Media and Freedom in Cambodia,” from 6:30-8 p.m. on Feb. 16 in Old Main 234 on the Texas State.
Kevin Doyle, editor-in-chief of the Cambodia Daily, is currently a 2011 Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. Doyle, who has been arrested in Cambodia in pursuit of his work, was convicted in 2009 on charges of defamation for publishing comments by a member of the country’s opposition party that were critical of high-ranking officials.
The presentation, free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by Texas State’s Center for International Studies and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
